Zr.Ms. Holland seizes 15,678 kilos of drugs

May 19, 2023  –DEN HELDER, WILLEMSTAD – After 7 months of patrolling as a station ship in the Caribbean, Zr.Ms. Holland has returned to Den Helder. During its deployment, the ship successfully thwarted drug smugglers. 

On April 13 and 14, in collaboration with the U.S. Coast Guard Southeast, Zr.Ms. Holland seized over 1,300 kilos of cocaine. The confiscated cocaine was destroyed, and the four drug smugglers were handed over to the U.S. Coast Guard. 

With these recent drug seizures, the total amount of drugs seized by Zr.Ms. Holland over the past 7 months reached 15,678 kilos. Zr.Ms. Groningen has taken over the duty from Zr.Ms. Holland and will continue patrolling the Caribbean as a station ship in the near future.
