Suspects in Dutch gardener’s murder convicted

May 9, 2023  –WILLEMSTAD – Last week, two suspects in the Karko case, involving the murder of Dutch gardener Ronald Moleaars, were found guilty and convicted. The court sentenced them to 8 years and 9 months, and 10 years and 9 months in prison, respectively. 

Throughout the trial, both individuals maintained their innocence. The men were already serving sentences for previous violent robberies. One of the suspects was expected to be released soon, but that is no longer the case. 

The murder of Molenaars occurred in 2019 at an apartment complex on Kaya Karko. Two brothers had previously been convicted for their involvement in the crime. On the same evening, two other residents fell victim to a violent robbery.
