November 3, 2023 –WILLEMSTAD – The Minister of Finance, Javier Silvania, has signed a ruling to facilitate direct payments by the Social Insurance Bank (SVB) for services provided to the Curaçao Medical Center (CMC). This announcement was made by the minister on his Facebook page.
According to the minister, this decision resolves the payment issue between ADC and CMC. The ruling was signed this morning.
Earlier there was a report about an agreement between CMC and ADC regarding the payment of the debt owed to the laboratory service. The initial portion of the debt, 700,000 guilders, had to be paid within 24 hours. Afterward, CMC was required to make weekly payments of 400,000 guilders until the 10 million guilder debt was settled.
Additionally, the agreement stipulated that starting from early July, ADC should submit CMC’s invoices to the SVB.
The parties had previously announced their intention to reach an agreement by the end of October on the amount they disagreed upon.
