April 24, 2024 –WILLEMSTAD – Prime Minister Gilmar Pisas recently met with the Consul General of the Dominican Republic, Ms. Maria Luisa Ubiera, and her delegation.
Representatives from the Curaçao government were also present, including officials from the Ministries of Justice, Governance, Planning and Public Services, as well as the General Affairs department.
The aim of the meeting was to take note of the different concerns, cases, and petitions that the Consulate had and to see how they could be addressed and fulfilled in the future.
Several suggestions and petitions were brought forward by the Consulate and the government ministries. They spoke about giving more attention to the different cases and having better communication with the Consulate to handle these matters more effectively in the future.
One proposal that was brought forward was to work on translating the different processes into four languages: English, Spanish, Dutch, and Papiamento.
The meeting was held in a good atmosphere.
