Minister Cooper receives visit from CEO of Blue NAP Americas

May 3, 2023  –WILLEMSTAD – On Tuesday, May 2nd, Minister Charles Cooper received a visit from the CEO of Blue NAP Americas (BNA), Mr. Giovanni King. This is in the context of development related to Curaçao’s data center. Together with Mr. King, Minister Cooper met with an expert in personal data protection, Professor Romeo Kadir. 

The reason for this visit is related to preparations for a talk that will take place on May 5th, during which Professor Kadir will elaborate on the importance of personal data protection and BNA’s certification in the legal area of European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). 

Professor Kadir explained that the certification is important for positioning BNA as the only Tier IV data center in the region. He also noted that this will be a boost for Minister Cooper’s project to position Curaçao as a digital hub for the Americas. Professor Kadir indicated that this development is of importance to all organizations in Curaçao.
