Disciplinary investigation into the Technical Hygiene Affairs department

April 18, 2023  –WILLEMSTAD – The Ministry of Health, Environment and Nature (GMN) is conducting a disciplinary investigation into the Technical Hygiene Affairs (THZ) department. Department head Gisette Seferina is said to have been denied access to all ministry buildings. 

In a statement, Health Minister Javier Silvania calls for calm in the THZ department. Without mentioning Seferina by name, everything indicates that the former PAR member of parliament is meant. Recently, staff had complained about her way of leadership and had gone on strike twice. 

The investigation focuses on the relationship between the employer and employee and is looking into whether there has been any misconduct. 

Based on the investigation, the GMN ministry will take appropriate measures for both the handling of the investigation and for a safe working environment.
