Contractor falls from Juliana bridge: Worker hospitalized with injuries

July 5, 2023  –WILLEMSTAD – In a concerning incident, a contractor working on the Juliana bridge fell and sustained injuries requiring hospitalization. 

The man was carrying out his duties on one of the pillars of the bridge when the unfortunate accident occurred. During a brief break, he decided to remove his safety harness momentarily. Tragically, he lost his footing and plummeted from a significant height. 

Responding swiftly to the emergency, an ambulance rushed to the scene and transported the injured worker to the emergency department of the Curaçao Medical Center. The fall resulted in multiple injuries, necessitating immediate medical attention. 

At present, the exact condition of the injured individual remains undisclosed, leaving friends, family, and concerned citizens awaiting further updates on his well-being. Authorities are diligently investigating the incident to determine the circumstances surrounding the fall.
