August 9, 2023 –WILLEMSTAD – The swift response of the coast guard proved critical yesterday as they sprang into action to aid a woman in distress. The incident unfolded on Klein Curaçao, where a crew member from a charter boat found herself in need of urgent medical attention.
Startlingly, the woman had accidentally severed the tip of her index finger, leading to a considerable loss of blood. Recognizing the severity of the situation, the Coast Guard’s helicopter was swiftly deployed to the scene. Skillfully navigating the skies, the helicopter transported the injured woman to Hato, providing her with swift access to medical care.
At Hato’s airport, a waiting ambulance stood ready to facilitate her immediate transfer to the hospital. This seamless coordination between the Coast Guard, air transport, and medical response teams underscored the importance of rapid and effective emergency services.
