1,200 kilograms of pumpkin seized

July 21, 2023 –WILLEMSTAD – On Monday, the Economic Inspection confiscated 1,200 kilograms of pumpkins that were on board a small boat from Venezuela. The Ministry of Health, Environment, and Nature (GMN) reported this.
The cargo was seized because the Venezuelan vessel did not have the correct permits. If the ship’s crew manages to obtain the necessary permits in the short term, they will be allowed to retrieve the load of pumpkins and sell them. However, if they fail to do so, the vegetables will have to be returned to the South American country.
Unlike cassava and peppers, which were seized last week, there is no ban on importing pumpkins this month.
